Nancy H. Stelmach, born Nancy Rae Hall, passed away on May 6, 2026, after a life lived with warmth, purpose, and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved.
Born on December 14, 1943, at Woodsville Cottage Hospital in Haverhill, New Hampshire, Nancy was the daughter of John and Marion Hall. She would go on to build a life defined by connection—to family, to community, and to the memories she worked so lovingly to preserve.
Nancy enjoyed a successful career as an office manager and realtor, bringing her characteristic dedication and people-first spirit to everything she did professionally. But perhaps her truest calling was her passion for helping others capture and cherish their most precious memories. As a consultant for Forever.com, she turned that passion into purpose, guiding families in preserving their stories for generations to come.
Those who knew Nancy knew she was never far from a garden, a camera, or a good laugh. She loved scrapbooking, photography, and the simple joy of gathering friends around good food. She served her community faithfully, advocated passionately for mental health awareness, and had a gift for making everyone around her feel seen and valued.
And then there were the Astros. Nancy may well have been the Houston Astros’ number one fan. Win or lose, she never missed a game—listening, watching, and cheering with the kind of loyalty that only true fans understand. Her priorities in life were simple and unwavering: God, family, the Astros, and then everything else.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved son, Tim Stelmach, who passed away in 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Stelmach Witt of Rome, Georgia; her brothers, John and Alan Hall; her grandchildren, Caleb Witt and his wife Alyssa, Austin Witt and his wife Julia; and great-grandchildren Declan and Mable Witt.
Nancy Rae Hall Stelmach leaves behind a legacy not just in the memories she helped others save, but in the indelible mark she left on every heart she touched.
A life well lived. A love well given. A memory worth keeping.
