Mineola Police Report
June 27
5:31 a.m., assist other agency, Stone Street, report of a male experiencing a medical emergency. Fire department was paged but later canceled. The individual was transported to UT Health Tyler.
6:13 a.m., motorist assist, 2200 block N. Pacific St., disabled motorist advised someone was en route to assist. Officer cleared.
6:27 p.m., reckless driver, W. Broad St., citizen flagged down an officer to report the driver of a Jeep Compass traveling westbound appeared highly intoxicated. Officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
8:32 p.m., public assist, Graham and Blair streets, officer removed foliage obstructing the view of stop signs at the intersection. Obstruction was cleared.
10:12 p.m., reckless driver, N. Pacific Street/city limits, report of a dark-colored Ford Mustang unable to maintain its lane. Vehicle was located near the 500 block of Greenville Avenue. Officer observed no violations.
June 28
12:08 a.m., traffic stop/arrest, N. Newsom St., officer investigated a suspicious person after receiving a report of an individual loading items from Goodwill into a black pickup. Female was arrested, transported to UT Health for a blood draw and then booked into the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
12:08 a.m., assist other agency, 700 block W. Broad St., officer assisted the Wood County Sheriff’s Office with a transport to Gerald Street.
8:49 a.m., disturbance, Chaparral, report of neighbors arguing. Caller advised a female was throwing belongings outside and yelling for someone to leave. Officers determined the incident was verbal only, and the female left the residence.
9:30 a.m., suspicious person, E. Broad St., report of an elderly man causing a disturbance in a business parking lot while making statements about wanting to die following the death of his wife. Caller also reported seeing a knife holster. Officer contacted the man, who stated he did not intend to harm himself or anyone else and left the area.
9:46 a.m., welfare concern, 1700 block N. Pacific St., officers responded to an open-line 911 call. They were unable to locate anyone in distress. Caller later advised everything was OK.
2:17 p.m., motorist assist, W. Broad St., caller requested a jump start. Officer responded.
4:24 p.m., public assist, S. Johnson St., caller reported a resident blowing grass clippings into the roadway. Officer contacted the resident, who advised the roadway would be cleaned after mowing was complete.
5:17 p.m., welfare concern, N. Pacific St., caller reported a trail of blood leading into a business and a pool of blood in the parking lot. Officers were unable to locate anyone with injuries. Photographs were taken, and employees advised surveillance footage would not be accessible until Monday.
7:30 p.m., assist other agency, W. Loop 564, officers assisted with clearing a building after an alarm activation involving an open door.
8:32 p.m., welfare concern, Giles Street area, dispatch received a call from a man making incoherent statements and threatening to stab his younger sister. The caller provided multiple conflicting locations before disconnecting. Officers searched the Giles and Sycamore area but were unable to locate anyone involved.
8:59 p.m., assist other agency, W. Broad Street/city limits, officers assisted the Wood County Sheriff’s Office in searching for an intoxicated driver reportedly leaving Lake Holbrook. The vehicle was not located.
June 29
8:35 a.m., public assist, Blue Bird Lane, resident requested assistance with an affidavit related to a fraud report previously filed in San Antonio. Officer provided the appropriate fraud form and advised the resident to contact the originating agency.
1:13 p.m., fraud, Old Tyler Highway, caller reported overpaying an unknown contractor for concrete sealing work. The matter was determined to be civil and the caller was referred to the Justice of the Peace office.
2:55 p.m., disturbance, S. Johnson St., caller reported several teenagers were possibly drinking at a residence. Officers determined no alcohol was involved and everything was in order.
3:30 p.m., disturbance, N. Pacific St., caller reported several unattended children running around a business. A woman confronted the caller before all parties left prior to the officer’s arrival.
6:21 p.m., criminal trespass warning, N. Pacific St., caller reported a white male driving a white Ford Ranger slammed on his brakes, causing a minor traffic incident. The caller requested a criminal trespass warning be issued. Officer issued the warning.
9:23 p.m., traffic stop/arrest, 100 block E. Kilpatrick St., traffic stop resulted in the arrest of William Alston. He was transported to Quitman ER for a blood draw before being booked into the Wood County Sheriff’s Office. A passenger took possession of the vehicle.
June 30
7:07 a.m., found property, Kings Lane, resident reported finding a license plate attached to a piece of trailer metal. Property was collected.
7:45 a.m., motorist assist, 400 block E. McDonald St., caller reported a vehicle had run out of gas and was blocking the roadway. The vehicle was restarted and moved from the roadway.
11:32 a.m., motor vehicle accident, 2300 block N.W. Loop 564, vehicle struck a building before leaving the scene and coming to rest in a ditch. No injuries were reported. Wyatt’s Wrecker Service and EMS responded. The driver was transported by EMS to UT Health Quitman. Insurance information was exchanged.
12:55 p.m., found property, N. Newsom St., caller reported finding an empty BB gun magazine. A case report was filed.
1:36 p.m., suspicious person, N. Pacific St., caller reported a man pacing in front of a facility, making patients uncomfortable. Caller later advised the individual was with another patient and no officer was needed.
2:40 p.m., public assist, Stone Street, caller reported a tractor-trailer had pulled down utility lines. Officer determined the line was a cable line, moved it from the roadway and cleared the scene.
3:37 p.m., assist other agency, N. Pacific St., officers assisted EMS and the fire department after a person’s hand became trapped in a tensioned engine pulley. The patient was transported by EMS.
3:52 p.m., welfare concern, Graham Street, caller requested a welfare check on a friend not heard from in two months. Officers made contact and determined the individual was OK.
6 p.m., civil matter, Lily Street, caller reported a dispute involving family members moving from a residence and the property owner refusing to leave. The parties were referred to the Justice of the Peace office.
8:10 p.m., traffic stop/arrest, 1200 block N. Pacific St., traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Johnthon Mitchell. Contraband was recovered. Family members took custody of the subject’s dog.
10:50 p.m., assist other agency, FM 49/Loop 564, caller reported an ex-boyfriend threatened to burn her RV and was following her vehicle. The caller met with law enforcement at the Mineola Police Department while the Wood County Sheriff’s Office investigated. Officers later contacted the suspect, and all Mineola units cleared.
11:59 p.m., motor vehicle accident, 100 block E. Loop 564, automated crash notification received. Officers determined a cellphone had fallen from a moving vehicle, accidentally triggering the emergency alert. No accident occurred.
July 1
12:35 a.m., drug offense, 1200 block N. Pacific St., officer initiated a drug investigation. A case number was generated.
3:04 a.m., assault, Elliott Street, officers responded to UT Health Quitman after hospital staff reported a patient stated she had been assaulted by her husband. The victim was reported to have significant injuries. Officers made contact at the hospital, and a case report was filed.
6:27 a.m., motorist assist, 100 block E. Kilpatrick St., officer assisted a disabled vehicle. The driver was able to restart the vehicle and continue.
9:40 a.m., motor vehicle accident, 1200 block N. Pacific St., two-vehicle crash with injuries reported. The vehicles were blocking the roadway. Wyatt’s Wrecker Service responded, and a passerby who was a physician rendered aid until emergency personnel arrived. A case report was filed.
9:48 a.m., hit-and-run, 1100 block N. Newsom St., caller reported a blue vehicle fled the scene after a collision while traveling northbound. A case report was filed.
12:07 p.m., disturbance, N. Pacific St., caller reported a man cleaning vehicles behind a business refused to leave and was yelling. The subject moved to another area before officers arrived. Officers determined it was a shared parking lot, and no further action was taken.
1:43 p.m., suspicious person, Molly Lane, caller reported someone walking through the yard carrying a briefcase. Solicitation pamphlets were found on several doors in the neighborhood. Officers were unable to locate the individual.
4:08 p.m., motor vehicle accident, 1200 block N. Johnson St., crash with no injuries reported. Wyatt’s Wrecker Service responded, and an incident report was filed.
4:20 p.m., reckless driver, E. Loop 564/city limits, caller reported a gray lifted pickup unable to maintain a single lane of travel. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
4:45 p.m., information only, S. Pacific St., caller reported a road rage incident that occurred June 30 involving a driver who allegedly threatened him with a walking stick after a traffic dispute. Information was documented.
4:48 p.m., public assist, N.E. Loop 564, caller reported being asked to leave a business while shopping with a service dog. Officer spoke with both the customer and store manager. The caller completed her shopping and left voluntarily. Officer advised her of the option to file an ADA complaint if desired.
7:59 p.m., theft, 300 Greenville Ave., caller reported someone had possession of her vehicle and refused to return it. A case report was filed.
9:47 p.m., welfare concern, E. Broad St., caller reported a woman requesting to use his identification to rent a hotel room. Officers were unable to locate the woman.
July 2
3:22 a.m., assist other agency, N. Johnson St., officers assisted EMS with a lift assist. The patient was helped up at the scene.
8:02 a.m., assist other agency, Mimosa Street, officers assisted EMS and the fire department with a medical call. The patient was transported by EMS to UT Health Quitman.
11:45 a.m., motor vehicle accident, 300 block E. Broad St., crash reported with no injuries. A case report was filed.
11:46 a.m., public assist, 1300 block N. Pacific St., caller reported debris in the roadway. The debris was removed.
12:28 p.m., information only, Wigley Street, caller reported a neighbor was spraying her dogs with a water hose through the fence. Information was documented.
1:01 p.m., suspicious person, N. Loop 564, caller reported a possibly homeless man standing beneath a tree. Officers were unable to locate the individual.
1:20 p.m., hit-and-run investigation, N.E. Loop 564, caller reported vehicle damage believed to have occurred in a parking lot. Officers reviewed surveillance footage and determined the damage did not occur at that location.
3:25 p.m., welfare concern, Pamela Street, a nurse requested a welfare check on a patient she had not heard from in approximately two weeks. Officers made contact and confirmed the patient was OK.
7:20 p.m., welfare concern, S. Pacific St., caller requested officers check on children reportedly playing in a parking lot to ensure no disturbance was occurring. Officers were unable to locate anyone.
7:45 p.m., disturbance, 1305 N.E. Loop 564, caller reported two men fighting in a parking lot. Officers determined the parties had separated before arrival, and the victim declined to pursue charges.
8:05 p.m., found property, N.E. Loop 564, Wood County Sheriff’s Office reported a bag containing expired over-the-counter medications found near cardboard recycling bins. The items had been discarded and were not taken into evidence.
8:15 p.m., motorist assist, 1400 block W. Broad St., caller reported a tractor blocking both eastbound lanes. The vehicle was moved, and the roadway reopened.
July 3
10:20 a.m., civil matter, Lee Drive, caller reported a property line dispute involving a neighbor removing a fence. Both parties claimed to have surveys supporting their ownership. They were referred to the Justice of the Peace office.
10:40 a.m., suspicious person, N. Pacific St., caller reported a man wearing a bowling pin hat talking to a bowling ball beside a building. Officer identified the individual and advised the caller to contact police again if further problems occurred.
12:16 p.m., information only, Wiggley Street, caller reported a neighbor was using a sprinkler to spray her dogs whenever they went outside. Officer contacted the other party and determined the matter was civil.
2:12 p.m., suspicious person, W. Broad St., caller reported a service truck parked behind a business with several five-gallon buckets. Officer determined the vehicle belonged to a pressure washing company performing work.
10:30 p.m., motor vehicle accident, 1400 block S. Pacific St., caller reported a vehicle had run off the roadway and become stuck in a ditch. Wyatt’s Wrecker Service removed the vehicle. Officers conducted field sobriety tests and observed no signs of impairment.
