Mineola Memorial Library Notes
Happy Spring! Feeling like planting a garden? Stop by the library and check out some books on the subject. We have lots of books from flower gardening to vegetable gardening.
Looking for some way to volunteer at the library? We need to get our flower beds ready for our landscape project. This involves pulling weeds, removing roots and tilling the soil. We’d love to have your help.
East Texas Library Friends will meet on Saturday, April 2 at 2 p.m. in the library. They will be discussing Robert Dugoni’s “The World Played Chess.” This is an interesting read and easily relates three time periods for three young men. You just have to read it to understand that last statement. Join the group for a discussion of the book and to help select two more books to put on our reading list.
East Texas Giving Day will be Tuesday, April 26 from 6 a.m. until midnight. This is an opportunity to support participating non-profits of East Texas. The Mineola Memorial Library will be a participant. Our three big projects this year are upgrading our computer hardware, landscaping and our summer reading program. Know that your donations to the library through East Texas Giving Day will go to fund library operations, especially these three projects. Watch KETK-56 on April 26 for coverage of this event and go to www.easttexasgivingday.org on April 26 to donate to your charity of choice. Minimum donation is $10. Please, consider donating to the Mineola Memorial Library.
The Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donations may be tax-deductible. The library has received memorial donations from the Fergusons in memory of Jeanene Upton, Sharon and James Webb in memory of Jeanene Upton, and the Goldsteins in memory of Jeanene Upton.
