Summer Reading is nearing the end. We will continue to place Grab and Go’s on the porch until the end of July. August will be a quiet month without any Grab and Go’s planned at this time.

Perhaps you have noticed changes to the exterior of the library. We removed both of the Bradford pear trees. These trees had reached the age where they start falling apart so we had them removed. We will replace the trees in the future. The Eagle Scout project is progressing with painting of the windows and trim. After the project is completed, we will have some landscaping done to replace the holly bushes.

We want to bring GED classes to Mineola. If you are interested in taking classes or volunteering to assist with the classes, please, let us know. Just call the library at 903-569-2767 and let us know or answer the poll on Facebook (here’s the link https://poll.app.do/ged-classes-at-the-mineola-memorial-library )

We are saying goodbye to one of our employees this month and we said goodbye to another one last month. It’s that time of year when our students spread their wings and fly away, a sad and a happy time.

There will not be a Book Sale this month. Stay tuned for the next one. All depends on weather and volunteers.

Remember, while August is a quiet month, it is because we will be gearing up for fall programs. We are planning on bringing back in-person programs. Stay tuned for programs, dates and times.

We are going to extend our hours in late August or the beginning of September – watch Facebook for the changes. Curbside will continue to be offered.

The Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donations may be tax-deductible.
