Mineola Memorial Library Notes
Meteorological summer has arrived and yet we are still getting some rain. Stop by the library and get some books or audio books to while away the hours as it rains or a good excuse to stay cool when the heat returns.
Summer Reading has begun for the children of Mineola. Beginning Wednesday of each week, we offer Grab and Go activities for the children while supplies last. They are available for preschool, school age K-5th and the Tween and Teens (6th grade and up). Please, one per person.
Reading logs are available at the front desk to track your daily reading with rewards for those who bring their list back to the library each week.
Money Camp will be offered again in July. Registration forms are available on the front desk. Money Camp is for children ages 5 to 18. Registration may be returned to the sponsor by fax or email and must be turned in by June 18. This program will be an at home version as it was last year and it is the seventh year for Mineola Memorial Library to partner with Gateway to American Opportunities, A Circle 10, Inc. for this program.
A book sale is tentatively scheduled for June 19. It depends on weather and volunteers. Watch Facebook for more information.
The library is visiting the primary and elementary campuses during their summer school programs. We bring an activity of some sort and then allow the children to check out a book to read for the week. They also have the opportunity to participate in the summer reading program at the school by keeping up with their reading on reading logs.
The Mineola Memorial Library is continuing to clean items upon return and heavy use areas of the building. Masks are preferred but not required. We do ask if you are not feeling well to stay home. Call us if you have material due and we can renew it, 903-569-2767.
