Mineola Library Notes
September is here and so are our programs! We hope you have been able to attend some of our offerings. Only one program requires registration, the American Girls Historical Reading Club. You may call 903-569-2767 and ask for Mrs. Pam for more information.
Something you may not know about is our e-book platforms.
We have Project Gutenberg, which includes titles that are now in the public domain. These can be found in our card catalog with the location listed as “Project Gutenberg,” and you can download them to read.
There is also Freading, which offers more modern literature, and our Cloud Library, provided by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, which features more recent releases.
For audiobooks, LibriVox offers public domain titles. There are also some available through Freading and more through Cloud Library. Cloud Library and Freading can be found near the center of our website.
You will need a Mineola Memorial Library card and PIN (personal identification number) to use the library’s e-book services. Freading and Cloud Library also require an app, which can be found in your device’s app store.
Need help? Just call the library at 903-569-2767 or stop by 301 N. Pacific St. during business hours.
Here are a few other things you might not know.
Wi-Fi is available from the comfort of your car seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The first time you use the Wi-Fi, you will need a password.
Our library is closed Sunday and Monday. We open at 9 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday and close at 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, 4 p.m. Fridays and 3 p.m. Saturdays.
Holiday closures are usually posted one week in advance inside and outside the library, on our website and Facebook page, on KMOO the first Tuesday of the month and in our Monitor column. Our next holiday closure will be for two days in November for Thanksgiving.
Remember, the Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and your donations may be tax-deductible.
We are not accepting donations of physical items at this time.
