Can you believe July is almost over, and school is just around the corner? Where did the summer go?
While you may not be able to physically leave Mineola, you can still borrow a book from the library and go on an adventure in your mind!
We will be sitting down to plan our programs for the next few months and would like to hear from you. Do you have any ideas you’d like to share about programs you’d like to see? Are there any programs we’ve done before that you would like to see again? Your input matters. Please stop by the front desk and ask to speak with Mary to share your thoughts.
School begins in Mineola on Aug. 19. Now is a good time to practice waking up, getting ready for school and going to bed at the same time every evening. We’ve all been operating on summertime, and it’s time to get into a new routine. Even the library staff has to reset.
We have many books about going back to school. We also have books on homeschooling if you are considering a home classroom. Please stop by and take a look.
Have you seen how long Herman grew? Each circle (or scale) represents one minute of reading completed between May 27 and July 18. There’s more than 13,000 circles. You should come by and see it in person so you can see how much reading the children did this summer.
Some have asked when our next book sale will occur. That will depend on staff availability and the weather. We are trying to pick a date. Watch our Facebook page because it really will be a pop-up event.
