September is almost over. Here comes October. Do you need some ideas for crafts, decorations or tasty treats for Halloween? Stop by the library and see what we have to offer.

Our new programs are up and running. Toddler 2x2 was well received and will happen again on Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. YAC had an incredible attendance and will happen again on Oct. 7 at 4 p.m. Not sure what these programs are? Stop by the library or call us and ask. We’d love to talk with you about them and other programs.

A note about physical donations of books. Please, do not leave them for us to find outside. They will go directly into the trash as we don’t know how long they have sat outside or what else has investigated them. Up to three boxes (12”x12”x24”) per household may be dropped off during library operating hours. Need help getting them inside? Let us know and we will meet you in the alley and unload them.

I just returned from the Association for Rural and Small Libraries conference. It is a great chance to recharge and get excited about library work. People employed by libraries from all over the United States meet to talk shop and everything else. Thanks to my staff for being able to carry the load and allow me this opportunity.

Mineola Memorial Library has received a donation in memory of Don Rhodes by Mary Peppeard. Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donations may be tax deductible.
