Mineola Kiwanis Club holds Chili Cookoff
The Mineola Kiwanis Club had a full house for its 17th annual chili cookoff Saturday at the Mineola Civic Center.
The Mineola Volunteer Fire Dept. took top honors from the judges.
The club raised funds for its many projects throughout the community that benefit children.
A dessert auction, silent auction and sales of cheese and American flag subscriptions all added to the till, in addition to the $10 admission price, which allowed attendees to sample all the entries.
The club is also sponsoring a contest for the best decorated home in celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday in July, with the winner to receive a five-year flag subscription.
