Mineola holiday tour of homes Dec. 7

Posted

The Mineola Landmark Commission will host its “Homes for the Holidays” Home Tour on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 1 to 5 p.m.

Tickets are $20 each and may be purchased in advance at City Hall and from any Landmark Commission member. Tickets may also be purchased on the day of the tour at any participating site.

Proceeds will benefit projects of the Landmark Commission such as Iron Horse Square, historical markers and Junior Historians.

Four locations will be on the tour: the home of Brian and Kelly Hodson, a two-story home built with innovative construction techniques in 1976 at 909 Sycamore St.; the home of Mary and Dean Hudson at 908 Sycamore St. built in 1929 which has several additions and midcentury modern features; the home of Greta Godfrey at 914 N. Johnson built in 1920 which began as a two-room house and has evolved over the years to a much larger home; and the home of Melanie Materson which is a Queen Anne Victorian home built in 1901 that has been recently restored to the charm of its early years. All of these homes have interesting stories to tell and will make you feel like you are home for the holidays.

Refreshments will be served at each location, and door prizes will be awarded.
