Mineola graduate earns law degree from Florida State, signs with firm

Taylor Kendall, 2013 graduate of Mineola High School, graduated May 4 from the Florida State University law school in Tallahassee, Fla. 

She has accepted a position as junior associate at Traub, Lieberman in Saint Petersburg, Fla. 

She graduated in 2020 from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville with a bachelors in criminology and a minor in psychology. She has served internships with the state attorney’s office and the Jacksonville sheriff’s cold case unit.

She was selected by Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society for criminal justice and invited to Phi Kappa Phi for achieving a top 10 percent grade point average all four years.

Other activities during her academic career included the Innocence Project of Tallahassee, the Sandra Hemme case, who was wrongly convicted and released in 2024, clerk under Leon County judge, the public defender’s office and the state attorney’s office in Jacksonville.

She worked as a supreme court justice for the FSU campus and worked for two insurance defense firms, one in Jacksonville and one in St. Petersburg. 

She participated in Trial Team with two competitions, one in Atlanta and one in Ft. Lauderdale 

She represented an alternative to death penalty organization in front of the Florida Senate with success, worked at a program for law students at the Inn Courts for the 1st District and made a presentation on Stare Decisis to the Court of Appeals of Florida.

She is a member of young lawyers association of Tallahassee. 

She will be practicing in insurance defense.

She is the daughter of Julie and the late Kevin Kendall.
