A specific use permit was approved to place a manufactured home at 230 Harris St.

The council approved the annual requests to the Meredith Foundation, totaling $343,194.

In priority order, they include tasers for the police department for $78,000; roller for the street department for $58,204; washer/extractor for the fire department for $33,000; construction of a parking lot across from the train depot for $105,000; historical museum operating funds for $38,000; $5,000 to put on Magical Mineola in December 2026; and $25,900 for upgrades to the amphitheater at the Mineola Nature Preserve.

Street closure requests were approved for Magical Mineola on Dec. 5, chamber Christmas parade on Dec. 6 and middle school choir performance at the gazebo on Dec. 18.

Also approved was the closure of the nature preserve Jan. 16-18 for the annual youth hunt in cooperation with Texas Parks and Wildlife.

The council cast all the city’s votes in the Wood County Appraisal District board election for Sam Curry.

Two appointments were approved for the Parks and Open Spaces Advisory board for two-year terms, Greg Souser and Dana Smith.
