Macie Wade Young 1934-2025

Macie Wade Young of Mineola passed away peacefully on Oct. 6, 2025 at age 91. Born on March 8, 1934, Macie lived a life marked by quiet strength, enduring love and deep devotion to his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Young, whose partnership and care were the foundation of their many years together. Macie was a proud and loving father to Cathy Jo Handley, Sarah Williams, Shannon Lenahan, Theresa Lindquist, Ray Neile Ludwig Jr., Kenneth Wayne Ludwig and Brenda Marie Smith. His legacy continues through them, and through the many lives he touched with his kindness and wisdom.

Macie was preceded in death by his sons, Macie Wade Young, Jr., Leonard Van Young, Marvin Allen Ludwig and Steven Charles Ludwig. Their memories remained close to his heart, and he spoke of them with love and fondness.

A lifelong resident of Texas, Macie was known for his steady presence, his strong work ethic and his unwavering commitment to those he loved. Whether offering a helping hand or sharing a quiet moment, he had a deep sense of responsibility to his family and community

A private service will be held by the family to honor Macie’s life and legacy. 

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
