Letter to the editor
Dear Editor,
I just wanted to express publicly my disapproval of the proposed construction of a concrete batch plant at the corner of S, Loop 564 and CR 2724, directly across from the Mineola Nature Preserve’s Derby Equestrian Center.
I bought my home several years back on CR 2724 in large part because of its location across the street from the MNP and just below the Greer Hill Mountain Biking Trailhead.
I, as well as the majority of the residents on CR 2724, believe, based on our research, that the operation of a batch plant at the proposed location and the pollutants associated therewith is detrimental to the plant and animal life that the MNP is intended to protect and, well, preserve.
I encourage those who have enjoyed the serenity and beauty of the MNP please visit the website preservemineola.com. Those who have yet to enjoy this jewel in Wood County, please do so, then come join our fight to save our/your preserve.
Respectfully,
Stephen Smith
