The Alba-Golden Lady Panthers picked up a three-set win over Grand Saline, bringing their season record to 11-11.

Junior Averi Stevenson had a strong match at the net, making several key plays and helping keep the Lady Panthers fired up. Junior Campbell Shrum also made an impact throughout the match.

Alba-Golden showed improvement from its previous match against Detroit, with better communication, consistent serving and stronger teamwork helping the Lady Panthers earn the sweep.

The win was Alba-Golden’s third in its last four home matches. The Lady Panthers had a tough stretch the previous week, falling to Quitman in three sets before battling Detroit through five sets in a 3-2 loss.

Alba-Golden will be back on the court Friday, Sept. 18, against Fruitvale. Fruitvale enters the match with a 5-9 record.
