MINEOLA-Memorial services for Gary Don Lafon, 56, Mineola, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, October 1 at Lowe Funeral Home in Quitman with Rev. Bob Geney officiating.

Mr. Lafon died September 19, 2016, at his home. He was born March 9, 1960 in Wichita Falls to Norman and Oletha Lafon. He was a disabled Army veteran and a Mineola resident for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Oletha Lafon; wife, Sharon Lafon, Mineola; stepson, Justin Kroening, Sulphur Springs; two brothers, Roy Lafon, Alba and Dale Lafon, Van Buren, Arkansas and four step-grandchildren.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
