The Mineola Lady Jackets were in cruise control last Friday as they took down the Winona Ladycats in straight sets (25-10, 25-12, 25-16).

It is likely that Coach TaShara Stephens would have preferred a more competitive tune-up before facing district-leading Eustace on the following Tuesday, but it is hard to argue with a straight-set win.

The Lady Jackets did have to exercise some mental discipline to remain on task throughout the match. Coach Stephens was quick to whistle a time-out early in the second set to refocus the squad. The Lady Jackets scored 15 of the following 19 points to take the set.

Mineola wraps up their regular season schedule on Friday when they host Grand Saline. Varsity play commences at 4:30 p.m.
