Hot off the press!
Readers get first issue of Wood County Monitor
Volume 1, edition 1 of the Wood County Monitor arrived from the press in Kilgore last Tuesday afternoon and Greta Gustafson (above) was the first person to come in the Mineola office and pick up a copy. The paper is the merged version of the Mineola Monitor and the Wood County Democrat. (Photos by Larry Tucker and Doris Newman)
Arlis and Geneva Banks (below) pick up the first Wood County Monitor sold at the Quitman office. The Banks used to go there every Tuesday to buy both papers. Now, they just have to get a Wood County Monitor for all their news.
Monitor Advertising Manager Heather Trammell delivers copies of the new publication to Hannah Vandover at Mineola Memorial Library. Copies of the paper are donated each week to be used in an English as a second language class. For information on this class call the library at 903-569-2767.
