For Yantis High School senior Caleigh Gamblin, volleyball has been an important part of her life for the past six years.

While she enjoys playing the sport, it’s the time spent with her friends and teammates that she values most. One of her favorite accomplishments as a varsity athlete has been watching her team improve.

“My favorite accomplishment has been watching my team grow together and improve a lot over the years,” Gamblin said.

As her senior season continues, she hopes the Lady Owls can reach the playoffs and make the most of their remaining time together.

“To make it to playoffs and make every last moment count,” Gamblin said of her goals for the season.

She credits her teammates and coaches with helping her improve as both a player and a leader.

“My team and coaches have had the biggest influence on me because they always push me to be better and have taught me how to be a leader,” Gamblin said.

Outside of volleyball, she also plays basketball, participates in Beta Club and serves as vice president of her senior class.

After graduation, she plans to attend a college close to home and pursue a career as a physical therapist.
