Filing for county, state and federal offices for the March 3 party primary elections gets underway on Saturday, Nov. 8. Deadline to file is Monday, Dec. 8.

County offices to appear on the ballot include county judge, district clerk, county clerk, commissioners in Precincts Two and Four and justices of the peace in all four precincts.

At the state level, state representative and state senator will also be on the ballot, as well as all the major statewide offices (governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, comptroller, land commissioner and agriculture commissioner) along with seats on the state supreme court and court of appeals.

County voters will also help select a new congressman, thanks to new district boundaries approved by the state legislature that moved the county outside of District 5, represented by Lance Gooden.

Early voting for the Nov. 3 state constitutional amendment election drew 2,409 early votes in Wood County.
