Early voting continues for the May 3 elections
Six elections are planned across Wood County on Saturday, May 3.
Early voting continues through Tuesday, April 29.
All early voting takes place at the county elections office in Quitman from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except for the city of Hawkins election, which will be administrated by Hawkins ISD from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Mineola has six candidates for three school board positions: Jennifer Abercrombie, Kendall Banks, Glen Dossett, Darlene Nicholson, Jill Quiambao and Mike Sorenson.
Quitman ISD ia holding a two-part bond election for school improvements.
The bulk, $27,850,000, is for a variety of improvements across the district, including a career and technical education center. The remaining $2,985,000 is for a new baseball field.
The city of Winnsboro has two candidates for mayor, Randy Parrish and Jimmy Carl Davis, and three candidates for two city council seats, Trevor King, Brandon Davidson and Brenda Morey.
Hawkins has a council election for one contested seat between Norma Oglesby and Jacque Burns.
The Ramey Water Supply Corp. is holding an election for its members to convert to a special utility district.
Como-Pickton has en election for three school trustees.
