Commissioners OK election security locks
Wood County commissioners approved an expense for $4,285 for the county elections department to provide additional security for ballots.
Elections Administrator Laura Wise said the security locks with keyless fobs will be installed on the doors of two rooms in which election equipment is stored.
They will provide logs of who enters and for how long.
The extra security is required by state law.
Commissioners also approved a request last week from District Attorney Angela Albers to increase the hourly pay of temporary help for the victims assistance coordinator position. That person is expected to be out for several months. The position is funded by a grant and will not cost the county any extra money.
