Church hosting special-needs prom
Night to Shine at Holly Brook Baptist Church:
You may remember the church from its previous years hosting the big, blow-out prom for anyone with special needs.
Well, in 2026, they’re doing it again.
The 2026 Night to Shine will be held on Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Holly Brook Baptist Church in Hawkins. According to public relations officer Mickey Majors, the event is completely free, and is intended for anyone with special needs aged 14 plus. Adults with special needs are welcome.
“Our goal is to be able to get to every person with special needs around the world until all are celebrated,” said founder Tim Tebow. “No matter what city, no matter what country, no matter where you are, we want Night to Shine to be there… it’s my favorite because we get to celebrate so many Kings and Queens and share how much they are loved by us and by the God of this universe.”
The event will include a red-carpet entrance, hair and makeup stations, shoe-shining stations, limo rides, corsages/boutonnieres, a catered dinner, dancing, gifts, a crowning ceremony for each participant, and more. There will also be a respite room for caregivers, and a sensory room for those who need a quiet place.
“Join us for a red-carpet evening you will never forget,” said Majors. “Enjoy the royal treatment and dance the night away!”
All participants must register before the deadline of Jan. 30. Registration can be found at hbbc.live/nts or by contacting church finance officer/secretary Lynze Stringfield at lynze.stringfield@hollybrookbaptist.org. The church also needs volunteers to act as “buddies” for each guest; these “buddies” will stay with the guest all evening and take the place of the caregiver. The event is sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, which helps organize and fund annual Night to Shine events across the world.
