Child Abuse Awareness recognized with annual candlelight vigil

The annual candlelight vigil in recognition of Child Abuse Awareness Month will be held Tuesday, April 21 from 6-7 p.m. at the pavilion at Jim Hogg City Park in Quitman.
The free family event promotes awareness, education and action concerning child abuse. It will feature speakers, children’s choirs and information booths.
Dr. Gregory Williams, author of “Shattered by the Darkness” and administrator for the Baylor College of Medicine, will be the guest speakers. Also participating will be the Wood County Child Welfare Board, Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center and CASA for Kids of East Texas.
