The Alba Library and Museum board met recently and discussed the Summer Reading program with the theme of Tails and Tales.

The program began June 8 with a kick-off party from 1-3 p.m. at the library. Participants can pick up a reading log and earn prizes all summer long.  Stop in each week to log progress.

The other sessions will be Tuesdays  on June 22, July 6 and July 20. Age groups are pre-school, 1st through 3rd grade and 4th and 5th grade. The final celebration will be at the Alba Park with water games, a pizza party and awarding of prizes.

Also discussed were ideas for the 10th anniversary of the library and museum, with a reception to be held Saturday, Sept. 18 from 12 to 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. More details to come.
