“Unearth a Story” at Alba Library This Summer
Join us this summer for a chance to “Unearth a Story” and dig for a good book!
Our Summer Reading Program begins with a reading contest that lasts all summer. Students will keep reading logs to track how much time they spend reading. The contest begins June 2 and continues through Aug. 1. Summer Reading is open to all ages.
The Summer Reading activities begin with a kickoff party at 11:30 a.m. June 2 at Alba City Park. The activity that day will be the Dino Dig Extravaganza.
On June 11 at 10:30 a.m., the library will host Dino Art Day. Children will participate in a Dino Scavenger Hunt on June 25 at 10:30 a.m.
On July 9 at 10:30 a.m., children will make fossils based on what they have learned throughout the program.
Finally, the grand finale will be held Aug. 1 at 11 a.m. The event will recognize students for their reading accomplishments and completion of the “Unearth a Story” program, followed by pizza. The activity that day will be a Dino Water Party.
Alba Library hopes many children, young and old, will participate in the Summer Reading Program. The program offers education about Earth’s past in a fun and exciting way.
