4-H sponsoring Pet Day at Jim Hogg Park

Kids of all ages are invited to attend the All for the Love of Animals Pet Day on Monday, June 14 at the Jim Hogg Park in Quitman from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The event is sponsored by Wood County 4-H and is free to all. Parents are welcome, too.

The schedule includes educational sessions on pet care presented by Texas A&M vet school students, fun games and activities, free lunch and snacks, and the chance to win a cool door prize.

There is no fee to attend, but participants are asked to call the Wood County Extension Office at 903-763-2924 to sign-up or with additional questions.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
