Yellowjackets get the best of Kemp, 9-3
Mineola defeated Kemp 9-3 Friday, aided by three-run innings in the third and fifth.
The Yellowjackets opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first, and Kemp tied it in the bottom of the inning.
Mineola grabbed the lead with another run in the second and held it the rest of the way. Kemp was limited to single runs in the third and sixth.
Mineola needed just six hits to secure the win. Caleb Gant had a pair. Dalton Rogers coaxed two walks.
Spencer Joyner drove in two runs.
He also threw for six innings, striking out five.
