Yantis and Alba herald holidays
Yantis kicked off the season's festivities with a parade downtown Saturday.
Alba Christmas on the Square was a fun community affair on Saturday.
First place float winner was Guys & Dolls Salon, second place went to Cecile Barnes for her antique car, and Alba Ladies Club won third place with their “A Small Town Christmas” float.
After the tree lighting ceremony, Peggy Sollee won the $500 gift card raffle. Raffle ticket sales of $1072 benefitted the Alba Food Pantry.
The fire department raised $544 with their chili supper to offset recent truck repair costs.
The festivities continue this Saturday in Quitman and Mineola.
