October 12

Deputy Gould, assault, Private Road 6605; victim and husband got into argument when he hit her on wrist, had been diagnosed with dementia and needed help, suspect transported for mental evaluation.

Deputy Morrison, theft, County Road 2169; caller lent neighbor money while working on his house, won’t let neighbor have tools back until he is repaid, caller informed is committing theft not letting neighbor have tools back, informed of options.

Deputy Croney, burglary, County Road 1475; homeowner advised window busted out, someone had been staying at residence, could have been trying to retrieve property, case forwarded to investigations. 

Deputy Croney, theft, FM 515; repair man advised air conditioning unit stolen from building, property owner did not have suspects, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Morrison, motorist assist, FM 49; driver ran out of gas. Deputy observed a smoking pipe in front seat, located substances including a crystal-like substance. Thadius McKenzie, 40, Mineola arrested for possession of controlled substance.

October 13

Sgt. Milbourn, theft, FM 182; caller advised someone stole copper wire from residence, case forwarded to investigations.

Cpl. Cooper, traffic stop, Hwy. 154. Deputy Burdick observed motorcycle attempt to flee, Cooper observed motorcycle to speed. Deputy located glass pipe on subject during pat down, driver admitted having illegal narcotics on him. Christopher Greer, 50, Gilmer, arrested for possession of controlled substance. 

October 14

Deputy Baldwin, theft, County Road 2482; vehicle stolen after friend was supposed to work on it and bring it back, caller notified to inform suspect to return vehicle or it will be entered as stolen.

Deputy Burdick, shots fired, County Road 2921; witnesses advised vehicle stopped near residence, fired multiple times. No damage or shells located.

October 15

Deputy Kovic, identity theft, Private Road 6963; family keeps using caller’s information, he received debt collection calls, caller given information to help with issue, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Rapp, protection order violation, County Road 1998; victim stated husband had protection order to not come to residence, protection order still active, deputies observed suspect at residence. David Newberry, 64, Yantis, arrested for violation of protective order.

Deputy Hughes, missing vehicle, FM 49; victim gave son vehicle one year ago, son observed vehicle missing. Deputies have not received vehicle information. 

October 16

Deputy Gould, assault, County Road 1813; victim going through divorce, advised husband dropped off kids at residence when argument broke out, suspect grabbed victim by throat, strangled her. Deputies observed red marks on victim’s throat, suspect will have charges filed for assault causes bodily injury.

Sgt. Cox, scam; caller attempting to buy vehicle, discovered same one listed multiple times, appearing to be scam, caller yet to provide information of listings.

Deputy Gould, theft; someone took pistol out of vehicle while unlocked, caller provided serial number of firearm, will be entered as stolen.

October 17

Deputy Croney, disturbance, Yantis area; assault placed victim, small child in danger, husband/suspect arrested on multiple charges, outstanding warrant.

Deputy Whisenhunt, theft, County Road 3470, Hawkins; victim paid individual for mechanic work at his residence, multiple tools missing from tool shed. Suspect information obtained, case forwarded to Investigations.

Deputy Morrison, theft, County Road 2297, Mineola; victim reported Craftsman 5000-watt generator stolen from garage, provided further details, possible suspect, case forwarded to Investigations.

October 18

Deputy Pollard, animal abandoned in Winnsboro area; obtained suspect information, criminal investigations division follow up to pursue criminal charges.

Deputy Whisenhunt, Holly Lake Ranch, burglary of a building; multiple Stihl items stolen from maintenance building, case forwarded to investigations.

Traffic stop near County Road 3900.  One occupant had outstanding warrant, arrested, narcotics in vehicle, further charges for both parties. Oscar Chavez and Jeremy Kay arrested for possession of controlled substance.
