June 1

Deputy Kovic, theft, County Road 2262; victim had phone shipped to house, missing from package, believed company possibly did not put phone in box. 

Deputy William, dispute, County Road 1917; male at house violating protection order, not located on scene, called and advised he was never at property. No offense occurred

Deputy Hughes, terroristic threat, Holly Lake Ranch. Security officers advised suspect made threats. Deputy contacted individual who appeared intoxicated, resisted being detained, security officer wants to press charges. Matthew Pfeiffer, 59, Holly Lake Ranch arrested for terroristic threat and resisting arrest.

Deputy Williams, theft, County Road 1439; game camera showed copper wire stolen and vehicle that took it, did not have suspects but stated items stolen from residence previously, case forwarded to investigations.

June 2

Deputy Kovic, theft, FM 778; pastor advised historical marker stolen from church, needed report to get sign replaced, case forwarded to investigations.

Sgt. Sepulvado, theft, Holly Lake Ranch; firearm missing from purse, has had gun fall out of purse in the past, would like it reported in case it is located.

Deputy Williams, theft, Private Road 5217; someone broke into shop, took multiple items. Deputy did not observe forced entry, caller gave list of stolen items, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Baldwin, unauthorized use of vehicle, Hwy. 80; caller’s cousin took vehicle without permission, wanted to notify SO, did not wish to pursue charges.

Deputy Gould, dog bite, Winnsboro ER; nurse advised victim left, his dogs bit him. Deputy contacted victim who advised did not know which animal had bit him. All animals had been vaccinated, advised to be quarantined 10 days.

Sgt. Cox and Sgt. Sepulvado, warrant service, Hwy. 80; subject arrested. While being patted down, narcotics located. Jaco Jiles, 59, Hawkins arrested for outstanding warrants and prohibited substance in correctional facility.

June 3

Deputy Baldwin, disturbance, County Road 1895; victim advised she and boyfriend got into dispute, he grabbed by arms, pushed her into wall multiple times. Victim advised male subject broke cell phone during argument. Dusty Rhodes, 23, of Emory arrested for assault and interfering with emergency call.

Deputy Hughes, fraud; someone called subject, told her she needed protection for Amazon account, made three purchases to the scammer, bank able to reimburse her, will cancel account, case forwarded to investigations.

June 4

Deputy Cooper, traffic stop, Hwy. 154; observed vehicle with no front license plate. Sgt. Hanner observed vehicle speeding. Cooper observed marijuana grinder in front seat. Cigarette pack located contained crystal-like substance. John Backus, 48, Quitman arrested for possession of controlled substance.

June 5

Deputy Rapp, disturbance, Lake Holbrook. Deputy observed two males fighting, one began to wrestle with deputy. After male placed in handcuffs, continued to resist arrest and pull away; suspect advised had been drinking, became too intoxicated. Joshua Jeffcoat, 18, Canton arrested for resisting arrest.

Deputy Pollard, disturbance, County Road 1431; individuals advised they were arguing, no offense occurred.

Deputy Cooper, shots fired, Holly Lake Ranch. Deputy and multiple officers drew rifles on suspect driving toward them and not stopping. After suspect fled officers for half mile, deputy pulled over vehicle, suspect tased for not cooperating, detained. Multiple firearms located inside vehicle. Matthew Pfeiffer, 59, Holly Lake Ranch, arrested for evading arrest, terroristic threat against peace officer, unlawful carry of a weapon, and resist arrest/transport.

Deputy Mayer, warrant service, Hwy. 154. Laurie Hinds, 61, Quitman arrested for outstanding Smith County warrant for abuse of corpse.

June 6

Deputy Kovic, damaged property, Private Road 6963; trash truck backed into fence, caused damage, report will be filed so land owner can be reimbursed.

Deputy Williams, animal complaint; neighbor’s dogs attacked sheep, dog owner contacted multiple times before, no contact made, case will be followed up.

Deputy Rapp, criminal trespass, County Road 3269, caller and brother got into argument, would like him criminally trespassed, suspect given criminal trespass.

Deputy Gould, theft, County Road 2150; grandmother’s golf cart stolen, provided serial number, entered as stolen, would like to press charges.

June 7

Deputy Kovic, theft; caller purchased lumber from individual, not delivered, suspect known to not deliver product, case added to current cases.

Sgt. Skinner and Deputy Baldwin, shots fired; possible victim advised had found snake, shot it. No offense occurred.

Deputy Kovic, criminal trespass; caller no longer wanted ex-boyfriend at property, would like him criminally trespassed; ex-boyfriend contacted, advised to not return.

Deputy Hughes, criminal mischief, Holiday Villages; someone driving motorcycle through yards tearing up grass, suspect located, advised to stop driving in yards.
