Deputy Jonah Croney took a report of missing cattle on Hwy. 154. The owner advised they would be making a report to the cattleman’s association if none of the cattle were found.

April 23

Deputy Jonah Croney took a report of missing cattle on Hwy. 154. The owner advised they would be making a report to the cattleman’s association if none of the cattle were found.

Deputy Corbin Hanner was in the parking lot of the sheriff’s office when a subject approached him on foot, asking for a ride to the store to get cigarettes. Deputy Hanner observed the subject to have a strong odor of alcoholic beverage, glassy blood shot eyes and was unsteady on his feet. Richard Wayne Burns, 69, of Wills Point was arrested for public intoxication.

Deputy Jon Ritterbach took a report from the Alba-Golden School District. A parent of a student stated another student was making threats towards her children. The report will be forwarded to the Criminal Invesigations Division (CID).

April 24

Deputy Dustin Green responded to a disturbance on CR 4660. After speaking with parties at the scene, Jesse Gerald Goodman, 39, of Winnsboro was arrested for terroristic threat of family/household.

Deputy Linda Williams was dispatched to a suspicious person on CR 4847. While attempting to locate the person, Williams made contact with an individual who had outstanding warrants. Micah Christian Marshall, 47, of Yantis was arrested for outstanding warrants out of Rains County.

Deputy Green and a Quitman police officer went to PR 7221 for an assault. The victim was not cooperative with the investigation. When speaking with the suspect, he admitted to hitting the victim in the head with a golf club. Dire Wayne-Cody Johnson, 35, of Sulphur Springs was arrested for aggravated assault date/family/household member with weapon and tamper/fabricate evidence with intent to impair.

Deputy Jaclyn Skinner conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 80. She made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. Due to conflicting stories, consent to search was requested. The owner of the vehicle consented. Inside the vehicle, an open container was located along with methamphetamine. Charles Clayton Thomas, 35, of Hawkins was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group (PG) one more than one gram and less than four grams.

Deputy Ritterbach was notified there was someone in the lobby of the sheriff’s office wishing to file a report. He spoke with the reporting party, who stated he shipped a custom guitar to a friend. It was picked up at his residence by a delivery company worker. The package never made it to its destination.  He would like to file a theft report.

April 25

Deputy Green responded to a sexual assault on CR 1970. The reporting party stated the suspect had intercourse with her without her consent. When speaking with the suspect, he could not remember if she told him to stop or not. At the time, the victim wished to press charges but later changed her mind.

April 26

Deputy Michael Allison responded to CR 2503 for a disturbance. He spoke with the victim who stated her son was upset that she was speaking with the attorney general’s office regarding child support. An argument was followed by the juvenile punching her in the face two times. The suspect left the location when he was told she was calling the sheriff’s office. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Brad Cox was dispatched to FM 17 for criminal mischief. The reporting party stated there was damage done to her RV. The case will be forwarded to CID.

April 27

Deputy Cox was dispatched to CR 3600 for a criminal mischief complaint. When he arrived, he spoke with the property owner, who stated he noticed damage to his guest house. Cox noticed a fence was cut.  Entry was gained into the residence by prying open the door. A water pipe was busted and spraying water into the room. This report will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Williams responded to CR 3990 for criminal mischief. The reporting party stated someone pulled up posts and cut wire on a fence. The name of a possible suspect was given. The case will be forwarded for further investigation.

Deputy Cox was dispatched to PR 6645 for a burglary of a vehicle. The reporting party said when he went to his vehicle, he observed the contents to be disturbed and property was missing. A burglary of a vehicle report will be forwarded for further investigation.

Deputy Michael Allison took a phone report for a terroristic threat.  The reporting party stated his son was threatened while in the parking lot of the Alba-Golden School.  The case is being forwarded to investigators.

Deputy Allison responded to Hwy. 80 for a report of a vehicle burglary. The reporting party stated when she went out to her car, she noticed the door standing open. She then noticed both vehicles in her driveway had been gone through. Items were missing from the vehicle. A report will be forwarded for further investigation.

April 28

Deputy Ritterbach responded to FM 2869 in regards to a dog bite. The property owner had a sign in front of the location that stated yard sale. They also had tables set up with items displayed. The victim went to the tables and began browsing. Dogs came from around the corner of the house and began barking at her. One of the dogs bit her on the leg. The dog was ordered to quarantine for a minimum of ten days. A citation was issued for no rabies vaccine.
