Wood County Sheriff’s Report
April 2
Sgt. Burdick, Deputy Haley, assault, CR 2110; caller’s roommate threw phone at her, striking her in the face, deputies learned the phone was tossed at the caller and due to being intoxicated, she was unable to catch it.
Deputies, suspicious circumstance, FM 778; caller located male and female on his property, when he confronted them, they fled on foot, deputies searched but did not locate subjects.
Sgt. Burdick, animal bite, Quitman ER; boy playing with dog when it bit him in face, mother unable to provide vaccine records, dog will be quarantined.
April 3
Deputy George, traffic hazard, CR 2260; vehicle by boat docks in roadway blocking traffic, vehicle owner advised they would move it out of roadway.
Deputy Tustin, accidental firearm discharge; caller advised downstairs tenant was cleaning firearm when it went off through ceiling, no parties injured.
Deputy George, suspicious vehicle, CR 2958; vehicle driving around on multiple properties without permission, driver advised they were with internet company, no offense occurred.
April 4
Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Hammond, warrant service, CR 2745. Travis Toledo arrested for active warrants.
Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Hammond, warrant service, Winnsboro. Ashley Raley arrested for active warrant.
Deputy Pollard, criminal mischief, CR 2310; girlfriend’s son caused damage to victim’s TV, offense report completed.
Deputy Beck, theft, FM 49; someone stole vehicle from residence, entered as stolen, offense report completed.
April 5
Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Hammond, wrecked vehicle, FM 49; deputies observed vehicle in tree line appearing to be wrecked, reported as stolen from the previous day, vehicle towed, owner contacted.
Deputy Haney, theft; caller advised wallet was missing, had multiple cards and identifying information, possible suspect provided.
Deputy Gloar, assault; victim jumped by four unidentified people, offense report and follow up will be completed.
April 6
Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Whisenhunt, Deputy Hammond, assault, Private Road 7543; parties had been separated, female had significant swelling and bruising, advised she had been head-butted by suspect. Trever Maxson arrested for assault.
Deputy Whisenhunt, criminal trespass, CR 2950; caller gave cousin permission to put camper on property, but also forced entry into residence, caller did not wish to file trespass warning but did wish to pursue criminal charges.
Cpl. Rich, Deputy Beck, shots fired, FM 17; neighbor shooting by caller’s camper, in fear for her life, male subject became irate, did not want to speak with officers, deputy observed suspect chasing him with his vehicle, attempted to strike another officer with his vehicle. David Gilmore arrested for evading arrest.
April 7
Deputy Smith, Deputy Tustin, warrant service, Adult Probation. Bobby Howle arrested on active warrant.
Deputy Smith, Deputy Tustin, assault, CR 2245; suspect had already fled, offense report completed.
Deputy Way, theft; victim’s grandson asked to use her phone, sent money to his account, stole debit card from purse, victim wished to pursue charges.
Deputy Haley, multiple burglary of vehicles, Hwy. 69, Mineola; multiple vehicles broken into, multiple items stolen, offense report completed.
April 8
Sgt. Cox, damaged property, CR 3144; during the night someone caused damage to gate, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Tustin, Deputy Smith, warrant service, CR 2245. Taylor Mobley arrested on active warrant.
Deputy Tustin, Deputy Smith, violation of protection order; victim provided screenshots of ex-wife attempting to contact him with protection order in place, offense report completed.
Deputy Haley, terroristic threat, FM 14; victim doing lawn maintenance on his RV park when tenant came outside with machete and hammer and threatened him, suspect left prior to deputy’s arrival, offense report completed.
