The Wood County Crime Stoppers organization held their bi-monthly meeting last week as the group reported on all activity going on county wide since January.
Some of the reported included the announcement of the people taking office on the organizations team. This year’s chairwoman is Vanessa Blackwell, vice chairman is Greg Hollen, the secretary is Susan Resnik, and the member at large is Janae Holland.
Other reports during the meeting included a report from Mineola Captain Dusty Cook and Treasurer Susan Resnik on their state Crime Stopper certification training last month. An update on new internet based tips reporting system (P3 TIPS), which has been presented to the community will be introduced to the local schools soon. The new system has already seen an increase in tips reported this year since introduction in January.
Coordinator’s reports on Crime Stopper activity in Alba and Mineola were provided by Alba Chief Tim Koonce. Constable Kelly Smith gave an update on the BSA Explorer post underway.
The Crime Stoppers next meeting will be May 21 at 6 p.m. at the Wood County Justice Center in Quitman.
