UIL reopens training June 8 for athletics
In a communique to all athletics directors and head coaches, the University Interscholastic League announced June 8 as the opening date for limited strength and conditioning training.
The announcement acknowledged that a plan will be forthcoming to detail the limits under which the program will operate.
Mineola Athletic Director Luke Blackwell stated that he expects the limits to address number of athletes, the location and frequency of the workouts.
Blackwell admitted the athletic programs are certainly behind schedule from previous years, but “all schools are in the same boat.” He accepts the situation as a new challenge to overcome.
