Mineola nabs win at Van tourney
The Mineola Yellowjackets defeated host Van 7-6 last Friday in tournament play, but did not fare so well losing four games during the event.
In the win over Van, Cameron Davis, Noah Sneed and Jacob Ford each had a pair of hits. Brayden Stehman struck out six and earned the win. Jeremiah Crawford had two RBI.
On Thursday, the Jackets to Pittsburg 6-1 in their first game following that with close 3-2 loss to Grladewater. Sneed tossed six innings and had 11 strikeouts pitching well in the loss against Gladewater. The Jackets only hits came from Stehman and Sneed. Stehman also had two hits in the Pittsburg loss.
The Jackets lost their final two games to Atlanta 7-3 and 9-2. In the 7-3 loss Davis and D.J. Hartley each had two hits. Davis took the loss on the mound and he did have four strikeouts tossing 5.2 innings.. In the 9-2 game, Aaron Standford took the loss on the mound going just over 4.2 innings and striking out four.
