He will begin his duties June 1. He replaces Lynn Kitchens, who has retired.

Tiner new head of marketing
Owen Tiner has been named the new marketing and tourism director for the city of Mineola.
He will begin his duties June 1. He replaces Lynn Kitchens, who has retired.
Tiner is a Mineola native and the son of Gordon and Pam Tiner. He has spent 14 years teaching in public and private schools, most recently at the Cumberland Academy in Tyler.
He received his bachelor’s degree in speech/communication and Texas teaching certificate in composite science/special education from Texas A&M University.
Tiner has worked for neighboring cities promoting special events for downtown Main Street and also worked for several private event venues. He has done numerous marketing and promotional programs for himself and other business clients. He can regularly be found performing at various music venues around the area.
He resides at Hideaway Lake with his wife and two daughters.
The marketing director works with two of the city’s volunteer advisory boards: Marketing-Tourism and Parks and Open Spaces.
