Subdivision open for business
Blackmon Meadows, a new housing subdivision off FM 1254 in Mineola, held a ribbon cutting last Wednesday.
Homes are under construction, and the first already has a contract.
The homes are facing a single street on the west side of FM 1254, just south of the Mineola Youth Foundation ballfields.
Among the amenities is fiber optic internet installed by Peoples of Quitman, in partnership with the Mineola Economic Development Corporation, which contributed $15,000 to the project, which includes new free public wifi service at the ballfields.
The builder is PLM Homes.
The addition is named for the Blackmon family which once owned the property.
When completed it will feature 33 homes.
