Santa’s not coming to the Mineola museum

Among the area Christmas traditions yielding to the coronavirus pandemic, the appearance of Santa Claus at the Mineola Historical Museum has been rescheduled for 2021.

The visit traditionally takes place on the second Saturday in December, which would have been Dec. 12 this year.

Please be sure to drive by the museum at 114 N. Pacific Street (old post office) to view the wonderful Christmas decorations all around the building placed by the museum volunteers, including the back dock.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
