The Quitman Pilot Club’s Chili Cook-Off will be Friday, Jan. 25 from 6-8 p.m. at the Carroll Green Civic Center in Quitman.
The entry fee for cooks is $25 along with a $25 gift card, or $50 without a gift card. The gift cards will be used to build high-dollar raffle buckets that will be raffled off the night of the event. There are also several sponsorship opportunities. For the entry and sponsorship forms, visit the Quitman Pilot Club Facebook page to download, or email Quitmanpilotclub@peoplescom.net to request the forms.
Dale “The C” Cummings will keep the crowd entertained and energized. There will be a lively dessert auction, and awards for best chili, best booth, people’s choice, and others.
Tickets to attend the fundraiser are $10 each for those 13 and older, and $5 for those age 12 and younger. They will be available from any Quitman Pilot or on the night of the event at the door. Or email Quitmanpilotclub@peoplescom.net to arrange for tickets.
All funds raised at the event will support the non-profit and all-volunteer Quitman Pilot Club, and the stated mission of providing education for the prevention of traumatic brain injury and offering services to those suffering from brain-related disorders, such as Alzheimer’s, stroke, and autism. Bicycle safety, Project LifeSaver and Special Olympics are just a few of those efforts so important to the health, safety and quality of life for our community members.
Chairwoman Paige Eaton said of the event: “This fundraiser generates a large portion of the funds needed for the programs we support. We are filled with gratitude for the way the community and our sponsors support and embrace the cook-off. In addition, it’s one of the most fun events of the season, and all of us Pilots can’t wait to see who earns this year’s trophies and bragging rights!”
