It is still not too late to register for Money Camp which is happening during July at the Quitman Public Library. Banks and public libraries from around the region are participating. Money Camp is divided into the following age groups: Money Club for Youth age 5-11 and Money Games for Teens age 12-18. At the end of July, there will be a Camp Store with great prizes and an award ceremony. Learn more by calling Peggy at 903-590-0288. 

Summer lunch snacks will be available for children daily 11 a.m.-2 p.m. through July, while they last, and is sponsored by the Quitman Rotary Club.   

The library offers activities throughout the summer. Photogra-phers of all levels are invited to the “In-Focus Photography Club of East Texas” that meets every 4th Monday at the library at 5:30 p.m. Free knitting and crochet instruction class meets each Thursday 2-4 p.m. Students of all ages and skill levels may bring their own supplies and patterns to trade. The Wood County TX Genealogical Society will begin meeting in September each third Monday at 7 p.m. in the library community room. Cancer Cysters and Breast Friends support group meets in the library community room on the last Tuesday of each month from 6-8 p.m. Call 903-850-3978 for more information.

Library cards are free to those who can provide proof of residence in Wood County and photo identification. A guardian must sign for children ages 5-17. Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Keep current at www.facebook.com/quitmanpubliclibrary.
