Area hay producers flocked to the Lester Cole Show Arena on the school campus Thursday to check in their entries for the 50th Annual Wood County Hay Show, slated for Sept. 13 at the Mineola Civic Center. Jim Pierce, right, is shown here turning in his entry, the 64th entry turned in that day, as Mineola High School FFA members Joshua Lee, left, Ricardo Martinez, center, and Jacob Lee, right, complete the chores of registering, tagging and bagging a sample for lab testing. By entry deadline time at 4 p.m. Thursday 76 entries had been logged in for the show. The 76 entries for 2016 is an increase over the entry total of 69 last year.
