A thought-provoking doc-

umentary about growing up in the digital age is going to be shown free Monday at 7 p.m. at Quitman High School.

The title of the movie is Screenagers: Growing up in the Digital Age and it has been screened more than 8,000 times to four million people in more than 70 countries around the world. With multiple screenings happening daily in communities across the globe, Screenagers is the first feature documentary to explore the impact of screen technology on kids and offer parents and families proven solutions that work.

The movie takes a personal approach probing into the vulnerable corners of family life to explore the struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction.

The average child in America spends more time consuming electronic media than going to school, with many teens “almost constantly” going online.

Dr. Delaney Ruston, the director of “Screenagers” and a physician serving as filmmaker in residence at Stony Brook Medicine in New York, says that screen time remains a topic that’s often contentious and downright confusing.
