Paula Katheryn (Arrington) Love, 93, of Gilmer passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 in Longview. She was born on April 9, 1927 in Winnsboro to Clem and Esther (Kidwell) Arrington. Graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021 in the Smyrna Cemetery.

Katheryn grew up in Wood County and married George Love on April 23, 1948 at the home of Bro. Jake Norris. They were members of Smyrna Baptist Church near Winnsboro. She began working for Brookshire’s Food Store in Winnsboro in 1982 as a checker and worked there for 10 years.

Surviving family includes her daughter, Jan Beaty, of Longview; daughter, Karen Garmon of Gilmer; grandsons, Scott Beaty and wife Jill of Lewisville, Brandon Garmon and wife Kim of Gilmer; granddaughter, Kim Beaty Geraci and husband Tony of Winnsboro; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends.

Katheryn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George, a sister, Nelda Bryce; and brother, Forrest Arrington.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert
