Panthers blitz North Hopkins
Hits, walks and errors helped Alba-Golden to a 17-2 win over North Hopkins Tuesday.
The Panthers plated four tallies in the first inning, five in the second and four each in the third and fourth. Both North Hopkins runs came in the third.
The Panthers had 10 hits while the visitors could manage just one. North Hopkins also committed seven errors.
Boedy Baker recorded three hits while Kason Trimble and Nick Hallman each walked twice.
Baker drove in four runs and Easton Campbell three.
Landon Green went three innings on the hill, striking out three.
Winona 21, Alba-Golden 11
The runs never stopped on Friday as Winona outgunned the Panthers 21-11.
Alba-Golden scored in all five at bats with a single run in the third, a pair each in the first and third and three each in the fourth and fifth.
But Winona plated one in the first, three in the second and six in the third for a 10-6 lead, then pulled away with nine more in the fourth.
All those runs came from only six Winona hits and five for the Panthers, who also committed 10 errors.
Chelton Cook had two hits to go with a pair of walks for the Panthers. He drove in three runs as did Baker.
Cook also saw two and a third innings on the mound, striking out five hitters.
