One new death as active COVID-19 cases fall to 75 with no new cases today
Mineola recorded its fifth death on Aug. 6 from COVID-19, according to the Northeast Texas Public Health District.
The county now has 11 deaths, with five each in Mineola and Winnsboro and one in the Alba ZIP code.

One new death as active COVID-19 cases fall to 75 with no new cases today
Mineola recorded its fifth death on Aug. 6 from COVID-19, according to the Northeast Texas Public Health District.
The county now has 11 deaths, with five each in Mineola and Winnsboro and one in the Alba ZIP code.
The case count remains at 316 countywide, with active cases down to 75 and 230 patients considered to be recovered.
Among the new cases reported recently – the Mineola ISD reported a high school staffer tested positive yesterday.
The state health department reports 1,546 residents have been tested for the viral disease.
The county's cases include 85 residents at two nursing homes, with eight deaths, along with 22 staff members who tested positive. As of the latest data July 23, 11 staffers and 21 residents were still active cases.
