No serious injuries in MISD bus crash
A Mineola ISD school bus was involved in a traffic crash Thursday, Nov. 21 about 6:35 a.m. on U.S. Hwy. 80 a few miles east of Mineola.
According to a district news release, the bus, on Route 5, with five students aboard, had stopped to pick up a student when the driver of a pickup struck the back of the bus.
One high school student was transported to the hospital to be checked out, and his injury was not believed to be serious.
The district said the parents of all students on the bus were notified immediately, and the “driver reacted as he has been trained and followed all procedures to protect the students and maintain their safety.”
