A-G starts district play with win
The Alba-Golden Lady Panthers (12-8) began the week with a loss but returned to form Friday with a win over Edgewood to begin district play.
New Diane swept Alba-Golden Tuesday night 17-25, 18-25 and 11-25.
Ginny Carson had six kills for the Lady Panthers. Gracie Pendergrass had three kills and Bethany Carson and Kenzie Chadwick added two kills each.
Aspen Howard put up nine assists.
Carson and Howard both had one dig apiece for Alba-Golden.
“I’m playing right now without some key players,” said Head Coach Tashara Everett. “I hope to have everyone back by the start of district.”
The Lady Panthers rebounded Friday with the start of district play.
Alba-Golden swept Edgewood 25-16, 25-20 and 25-20.
Gracie Pendergrass had an incredible game with 20 kills for the Lady Panthers. Ginny Carson had three kills to go along with her two aces and Breezy Weisert and Macie Pendergrass added two kills each.
Weisert also had a great game supplying the Lady Panthers with 19 assists.
Lindsey Roberts had six digs with Carson adding four, Aspen Howard with three and Bethany Carson with two.
“We’ve being playing without two of our starters but got one of our starters back Friday,” Everett said. “We played our level of play Friday.”
