Music and fireworks again planned for Mineola to celebrate 4th of July
The city of Mineola and the Lake Country Symphonic Band will once again combine forces for a 4th of July spectacle of patriotic music and fireworks.
And the band will add an extra opportunity to hear their selections of patriotic music – indoors.
The band will perform in front of the Mineola Civic Center on Friday, July 4 at 8 p.m. leading up to the city’s fireworks show at 9 p.m.
For those who would like to hear the American classics without having to brave the outdoors, the concert will also be performed the previous evening Thursday, July 3, at 7:30 p.m. at their traditional home at the historic Select Theater.
The concert will be free of charge, but reservations are encouraged as the theater is expected to fill up.
The city is once again putting on the fireworks show on the 4th and seeking donations from the public to help offset the cost.
The goal is $6,000, and donations may be made at city hall, 300 Greenville Hwy. or mail to PO Box 179, Mineola TX 75773 or through the QR code provided in the fireworks donation ad elsewhere in this edition.
