MISD board plans to name superintendent
The final round of interviews is underway this week for the position of Mineola school district superintendent.
The school board scheduled three interviews this week – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
According to the meeting notice published on the district website for Thursday, the lone finalist for the position is expected to be named following the final interview.
Last week the board held six interviews from the 45 applicants and narrowed it to three for a second round of interviews.
Once the lone finalist is named, there is a 21-day waiting period before a contract can be finalized.
Superintendent Kim Tunnell resigned in August, and Randy Hancock has been serving as the interim.
As with all meetings under new state law, there is a public forum included in Thursday’s meeting, which is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
